September Song Musical Theatre is thrilled to announce auditions for our forthcoming production of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast! We are seeking a diverse cast of all ages (7 years of age through adult). All roles are open and are unpaid. Auditions will be held at the Carroll Arts Center in Westminster on Friday May 12th at 6:30 PM, Sunday May 14th at 2:30 PM and Monday May 15th at 6:30 PM. Call backs, if needed, will be held on Monday May 15th as well.
Auditions are conducted in 3 parts; singing, dancing and a cold reading from the script. You should come prepared to sing about 32 bars from a musical (no pop, R&B, rap, etc.). An accompanist will be provided, as well as a CD player and hook up for mp3 players. Please bring music in your key. We do not allow any singing over pre-recorded vocal tracks or singing acapella. If you are auditioning for a specific role, please come to auditions familiar with song(s) the character you are auditioning for sings in the show. You may be asked to sing by yourself or with others something from the show.
Come prepared to learn a short dance routine to music from the show. Dress comfortably and bring appropriate footwear (character shoes, dance shoes, tennis shoes, etc). Flip-flops or bare feet are not acceptable (this is for your safety).
For those that are auditioning for a speaking role, you will be asked to read from the script. There’s no need to prepare a monologue. The selections from the script will be pre-determined by the director and you will be given time to review the selection before your reading.
