Audition Agreement 2020

Everybody auditioning for The Sound of Music must agree to the following:

Tech Week & Performance Policy:
PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU ARE REQUIRED TO BE AT ALL TECH REHEARSAL AND ALL PERFORMANCES. If you are not able to be at EVERY tech rehearsal and ALL 5 performances, we will be unable to offer you a role in our production of The Sound of Music.

Background Check Policy:
We take the safety of our cast and crew seriously (especially our younger performers and crew members). For that reason we require any person cast in The Sound of Music who is 18 years of age or older, to pass a limited background check to remain in The Sound of Music.

Upon being cast in the show, we will email you a link to submit your background check online. Please make sure you enter you email address correctly when signing up to audition as that is the email address we will use to send you your link. All background checks will be performed by Background Checks for Volunteers. For more information about what to expect please visit https://backgroundchecksforvolunteers.com/resources/.

Time Off Policy:
We understand that The Sound of Music will be rehearsing during the summer and that you may have vacation time planned. Please make sure you document any conflicts you are aware of when submitting your audition request. Outside of vacation, we expect you to be at all rehearsals you are called for. We require a weeks notice for any additional rehearsal conflicts. Excessive missed rehearsals could result in you not being used in the scenes you missed rehearsal for and could eventually lead to being asked to leave the show.

Conflict of Interest Policy:
In order to be cast in The Sound of Music you must agree to not participate in any other theatrical productions during the rehearsal and performance period of our show. Exceptions can be requested and will be reviewed on a case by case basis. Exceptions will be ultimately decided by the Executive Producers.

General Release:
I irrevocably release September Song Musical Theatre, the Community Foundation of Carroll County, the production staff, the September Song Board of Directors or any other person participating in auditions, the Westminster Senior Center and Carroll County Government from any and all claims or liability arising from participating in auditions for The Sound of Music.
